Our tutorials make already simple tasks effortless.

Across the board, the folks at TechTV love MusicMatch Jukebox (MMJ). And many of us have purchased the full version because it's worth every penny of its $19.99 price tag. And a lifetime of upgrades only costs $39.99.

It does just about everything you want a music management tool to do, and does it all well. We can't say enough good things about MMJ. Here are our top five favorite tasks it can tackle -- in no particular order -- with a walkthrough for each one.

  1. Changeable skins

It's like having a killer wardrobe for your MMJ. How cool is that?

    1. Click Options, go to Download Skins, and a window will open.
    2. Select the skin of your choice.
    3. Click Download, and MMJ will automatically download and install the skin.
    4. Repeat steps two and three to install other skins.
    5. To change skins on the player, click Options, then select Change Skin, and a window with your skin library will open.
    6. Select the skin of your choice, and click OK.

  2. Easy CD ripping

It's hard to imagine a more intuitive, easy-to-use interface.

    1. Make sure you're connected to the Internet.
    2. Pop a CD you want to rip into your PC.
    3. Click on the red Record icon, and the Record window will open.
    4. Click Refresh at the top of the Record window to access CDDB (Compact Disc Database) info.
    5. When the CD info pops up in the data window, you may press the red Record button inside the Record window to begin ripping.
    6. The CD drive will pop open when it's complete.

  3. Convert files

    1. Click File, then Convert, and a window will open.
    2. Choose the Source Data type by clicking the arrow in the lower left corner of the popup. We chose MP3s as our source files.
    3. Search the Source file portion on the upper-left side of the popup for your files, and highlight the ones you want to convert in the middle window on the left side of the popup.
    4. Choose the Destination Data type by clicking the arrow on the lower right of the popup. We picked WAV.
    5. Choose the Destination Directory that will contain your newly converted files.
    6. Click Start, and a window will open that shows the progress of the conversion through to completion.

  4. Create a playlist

Access your favorite songs with ease.

    1. Click File, then Open, and a window will open.
    2. Find your music folder, select the songs you want to add by highlighting them, and click Play. Your songs will show up in the playlist window on the right side of the player.
    3. To save, click Options, Playlist, and Save Playlist, and a window will open.
    4. Give the playlist a title, and click Save.

  5. Create a CD from your playlist

Now that we've created a playlist, let's burn a CD with it. Just make sure you have a burner, or you'll be very disappointed.

    1. Make sure you don't have any other programs running -- not even a screen saver.
    2. If you closed MMJ, you'll need to open your playlist. Click File, then click Open, and a window will open.
    3. Select Playlists from the left-hand menu. All the playlists you created will be there.
    4. Select the one you wish to burn, and click Play.
    5. Once the playlist is open, click File, then click Create CD From Playlist, and a window will open.
    6. Select the Audio radio button, and make sure your songs are selected with an "x" beside each one.
    7. Click the Options button to make any necessary adjustments to the settings.
    8. If there is space available, you may add more songs by clicking the Add Song button. You can see how much room is available on your disk by looking at the CD-ROM Disc Space gauge at the bottom of the popup.
    9. When you're all set, click Create CD, and the burning process will start.
