You've never seen Palm games like these. Wow your friends with these handheld magic tricks.

Would you like to be able to read someone's mind simply by looking at her palm? Through today's technology, palm reading -- Palm Pilot-reading, that is -- has become a reality. And today on "Call for Help" I'll show you how to delve into the magical world of Palm prestidigitation.

First stop on the technological train to Hogwarts is a Web-based magic shop called Hottrix. Here we discover that it's easy to add Java support to your Palm OS. Through a program called e-spresso you can brew a virtual cup of espresso, drink it, and beam it to your friends. The program also works on Pocket PC devices. I've even developed a special "Call for Help" version. You can get it here.

Hottrix also features a baffling card trick called AbraPick. With this effect you can name the card that was picked on a stranger's Palm Pilot without ever looking at it. Your spectators can examine everything without discovering the clever secret. The secret, however, is available only after paying $19.95 for the full download.

For another great card game go to the Psychic Rabbit. This is a Palm Pilot version of an effect that has been seen all around the Internet. You simply think of a card that is displayed on the screen and the psycho bunny reaches into your brain to reveal your card by removing it from the bunch.

Are numbers your thing? With these next two magical illusions you won't be able to divine tomorrow's winning lotto numbers, but you will be able to fool your friends into thinking that you are truly gifted. Both of these effects work on the same principle: Simply think of a number and have your Palm assist in the divination. A self-working example is called Guess. If you would rather do the magic (and the math) yourself, try the SharperMinds version called "VooDoo Squares."

Now you've mastered the basics and you're ready for advanced Palm magic. This reverse mind reading and focused projection trick is a real miracle that can help you build a reputation. This program is so good, my magician friends are going to be angry I'm sharing it with you.

Imagine using your Palm Pilot's draw program to beam a three-digit number into the mind of your spectator. Handwrite a number on your Palm using your stylus. Then close the cover and ask your spectator to name the first three-digit number that comes to mind. Open the cover and display your prediction. A perfect match! The brilliant SpiritWriter 1.0 (also by SharperMinds) costs $19.95.

Remember, a real magician never repeats a trick, and a trick is only magical if you keep the secret. Good luck, and welcome to the magician's guild, my fellow Palm reader!
