See why this alternative to the Google toolbar is No. 1 in my book on today's show.

If you watch "Call for Help," you know that Google is my favorite website. It's supereasy to load and returns a plethora of the best sites matching my search terms. You've got to love that. But I love it even more when Google lives on my desktop with the help of today's free file.

Today I'll show you how Google's SearchTool makes the magic happen while searching for my most favorite thing in the world. (You'll need to watch to find out what it is.)

The very small tool sits on your desktop, not on the address bar of your browser like the Google Toolbar. As long as you're connected to the Net you can call up a search at any time, even when you're working in applications such as Microsoft Word.

This gem is available in more than 30 languages and runs on any Windows machine. Unfortunately, it's not yet available for Mac or Linux operating systems.

Here are my three favorite things about this tool:
  1. When searching, you can choose any of the 17 Google extensions to narrow your search. Extensions include WWW, translate, images, and lucky.

  2. To use the tool in a different language, right-click SearchTool and select "Search in this language only."

  3. Right-click the tool to access more than 20 settings. Here's where you can tweak the adult site safety, search Google groups between certain dates, search exact terms, and much more.

Once you've seen it in action, you'll want to have this free file too. Be sure to watch!
