The Thing (PS2) - 1John Carpenter's freaky remake of "The Thing" is an ideal setting for survival horror. "Extended Play" gives you a sneak peek at Computer Artworks' follow-up that takes place three months after the movie ends. A military team sent to investigate the disappearance of everyone on the Antarctic expedition.

Hint: They've been taken over by an evil alien monster.

Your job is to find it and kill it before it takes over your entire team.

Along with fighting aliens and solving puzzles there is a new trust/fear interface. Basically, this interface acts as your influence on nonplayer The Thing (PS2) - 2characters (NPCs) and determines if NPCs will cooperate with you. You have to try to keep fear and paranoia from driving them insane or worse.

"The Thing" manifests itself with different styles of gross. There are Scuttlers (vicious spidery knee-biters), Walkers (parts of your former coworkers with a Thing attached), and Ruptures, crazy monsters that spew out nastiness from their bellies.

The Thing (PS2) - 3Better stoke up that flamethrower. "The Thing" will be taking over store shelves in late 2002.
