The former child star helps Team Nightmare crush its robo-rivals.

Nightmare 2Gary Coleman is not a robot. You're thinking of that weird little chick from Small Wonder. No, the former star of "Diff'rent Strokes" is all man. He's also the newest member of Team Nightmare, a champion BattleBots squad. Coleman will be on Monday's show with the metal-munching Nightmare and its creator, Jim Smentowski.
Odd couple?
A lot of people don't know this, but Gary's a geek. He's a big-time gamer -- both PC and console -- and appears annually at the E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles to challenge young punks at the latest titles.
Coleman's also an advice columnist for the tech entertainment site UnderGroundOnline (UGO), where he doles out his sassy brand of pop psychology in a section called Coleman Confidential.
UGO recently became a sponsor of Smentowski's Team Nightmare BattleBot squad and asked if Coleman could be an honorary member of the Team Nightmare pit crew. Now does it all make sense?
Killer machine
Nightmare is known in BattleBot circles as a heavyweight. At 220 pounds, Nightmare is equipped with a bludgeoning disc that spins at over 325 mph. It is not, we repeat, not a razor blade. The disc is fitted with two blunt teeth that repeatedly beat an opponent into submission.
