Get the camera facts before you drop the cash.

My father is pretty disappointed in my holiday gift list. He thinks that just because I want a Santa-hat-wearing flamingo that dances to 'Jingle Bell Rock' I'm a big sissy. For his information, I'm a big sissy because he wouldn't buy me a BB gun for my 10th birthday. Leave the flamingo out of this.

All "Pa Dukes" wants this year is a digital camera, but my "Big Mama" has no idea what model to get him. So I sent her uninformed bee-hind over to Steve's Digicams to get stocked up with camera knowledge.

The site's holiday wish list section makes it easy for experts and novices alike to learn about digital cameras in various price ranges. Simply select your budget parameters -- say, between $200 and $300 -- and Steve serves you up a list of options along with informed descriptions and pictures of each camera.

There are also links to Ritz Camera's site if you want to buy one of Steve's suggestions, though you might be able to find the cameras cheaper elsewhere online.

Steve's site isn't flashy, but it's purposefully constructed so that viewers with any browser or connection speed can soak up Steve's knowledge smoothly.
