Put Gap out of business with your own homemade sweaters.

Knitting is the new yoga. Now you can learn your "back loops" from your "purls" in front of the warm glow of your monitor rather than in front of a roaring fire. Things have changed, but the scarves are the same.
You can learn to knit at -- where else? -- Learn to Knit & Crochet, or more specifically go here for the basic instructions. All you need are some needles, some yarn, and a lot of patience. Don't worry, it takes a little while to get your tension right. If you start now, you can probably have your first sweater done by Christmas.
Since most of you have much less interest in knitting than you would care to admit, I've also included a bonus link to an extremely technical white paper I recently read and enjoyed. It's entitled "Layer 2 Analysis of WLAN Discovery Applications." It's by Joshua Wright and you can find it here.

For a slightly unrelated link, you might also enjoy the Morgan Webb World Domination League and Sewing Circle.
