"Silicon Spin" Line Producer Owen C. Franklin grew up just outside of Boston and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. After a summer job writing a weekly financial column for the Boston Herald, Franklin moved to Portland, Oregon. He poured one too many beers as a brew-pub waiter, then began working at KATU, the local ABC affiliate.

After two years of live debate shows and daily news segment production, Franklin moved to San Francisco. He spent a year as a streaming video producer, then came to TechTV to join the "Working the Web" show. He now enjoys towing the line with the "Silicon Spin" staff.

Franklin lives in San Francisco, and enjoys mountain biking, writing, and the occasional round of karaoke.
