Cult-classic fantasy series returns to the United States only on TechTV.

On August 5, TechTV will begin airing "Thunderbirds," one of the most popular and enduring series in the history of world television. Gerry Anderson's complete 32-part, action-packed, fantasy adventure series will be aired in a new digitally restored and remastered version.

Set in the year 2065 on a secret island base, "Thunderbirds" follows the adventures of the Tracy family - Jeff, Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John - who run International Rescue, a global service comprising five amazing Thunderbirds craft.

International Rescue's ongoing mission is to aid humanity and are supported by a host of other characters, including London agent Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, her butler Parker and teenage genius Brains. Together they battle the forces of evil, lead by the world's foremost villain, The Hood.

Filmed in Supermarionation, "Thunderbirds" was dubbed the most expensive series ever made when it first aired in the UK in 1965 but it instantly became a worldwide hit, attracting an estimated audience of over 100 million fans in 66 countries.
